Plavix (Clopidogrel)

Plavix is intended to reduce risk of heart attacks and strokes at patients with heart problems.

Plavix is taken with or without food, washing down with water. Take it in accordance with your doctor's recommendations.

Plavix prevents formation of blood clots, which can cause heart attacks and strokes at patients with peripheral vascular disease.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication.

Plavix has to be stored at ambient temperature 15-30 degrees C (59-86 degrees by Farenheit) in protected from humidity and high temperature place, out of reach of children.

Do not use aspirin, indomethacin (Indocin), naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), ketoprofen (Orudis, Orudis KT, Oruvail), oxaprozin (Daypro), nabumetone (Relafen), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Nuprin, others) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs without preliminary consultation with your treating doctor. Plavix decreases blood coagulation, therefore the bleeding even from insignificant wounds can not be stopped for a long time. If you are breastfeeding - it is necessary to consult with your attending physician before using Plavix.

In case of presence of following side effects:

• Long bleeding from a nose or other bleeding;
• Blood in urine, bloody stool;
• Caughing of blood or vomitings which is similar to a coffee ground;
• Stethalgia, the pain spreading to an arm or a shoulder, the nausea, the raised diaphoresis, sense of the general discomfort;
• Subitaneous numbness or weakness, especially on one side of a body;
• Strong headache, confusion state, visual disturbance, speeche disturbance;
• Abnormally light skin, fever, or icterus (a yellowing of a skin or an eye); or
• Easy bruising, the violet or red points under your skin.
