Prednisone (Deltasone)

Prednisone is a corticosteroid, applied at treatment of an arthritis, serious attacks of an allergy, an asthma, dermal diseases and a multiple sclerosis.

Prednisone (Deltasone) should be used according to references of your attending physician. For dosage definition familiarise with the instruction on drug application.
Prednisone (Deltasone) is recommended to be taken during meal.
Dosage of Prednisone (Deltasone) is varied depending on disease and symptoms. Do not miss regular intake of a drug. Corticosteroids should be used for several days for achieving of best result.

Prednisone - is a corticosteroid. Drugs of a corticosteroid series influence tissues, allowing either to reduce an inflammation or to prevent it.

If you have missed intake of Prednisone (Deltasone), make it as soon as possible. If this moment has coincided with a following regular drug intake it is possible to skip it and take it further under a schedule. It is not recommended to take 2 doses at once in order to avoid side effects.

Prednisone is necessary to be stored at ambient temperature of 20-25 degrees C (68-77 degrees by Farenheit) in the place protected from humidity.

Do not use Prednisone if:

• you have an allergy to components of Prednisone
• you have a system mycosis
• you take now mifepristone

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are going to inoculate against a virus (for example, a smallpox)
• if you have problems with a thyroid gland, a liver or nephroses, diabetes, or a nonspecific ulcerative colitis
• if you have diseases of cardiovascular system, an esophagitis, stomach diseases, an ulcer
• if you have an ophthalmic herp or any other phylum of an infectious disease (bacteriemic, fungic, virus)
• if you are ill or had been ill with a tuberculosis or the analysis has yielded a positive take on a tuberculosis, a measles, or a chicken pox.

• Methotrexate or ritodrine because the actions and side effects of these medicines may be increased
• Clarithromycin azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), steroidal contraceptives (eg, desogestrel), or troleandomycin because side effects, such as weakness, confusion, muscle aches, joint pain, or low blood sugar, may occur

The MOST WIDESPREAD side effects may include:

• Problems with a sleep; sense of giddiness; the increased appetite; the increased diaphoresis; indigestion; mood changes; nervousness.

• swelling, rapid weight gain, feeling short of breath;
• severe depression, unusual thoughts or behaviour, seizure;
• bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood;
• pancreatitis;
• low potassium;
• dangerously high blood pressure.
